Weight loss is a common goal for many people, whether they want to shed those extra calories for a specific occasion or just for better health. However, this is not an easy task. You need to have immense control over your eating habits, replacing unhealthy meals with healthier options, and tracking your calorie intake. It takes a lot of motivation for someone to stick with the process. It may take a lot longer than expected, but if you stick to your plan, you have a good chance of succeeding.
In an Instagram post, nutritionist Lovneet Batra highlighted five ways to track your weight loss. And the best part is that you don’t need a scale to do it.
The caption reads, “As long as the number on the scale goes down, you tend to feel motivated. But there can be demotivating times when you fail to keep track of progress on the scale. These are the signs that will tell you that you are on the right path.
Here are the five ways to track weight loss:
1) You have no feelings of hunger or cravings
This could be a happy sign for anyone who has a sweet tooth or is hungry all the time. Well, if your diet includes the right amount of fiber, healthy fats, and protein, they send a satisfying signal to your brain so you’ll feel full for long hours. This will prevent you from gorging yourself on unhealthy things frequently. Moreover, this type of signal is not sent to the brain when you consume unhealthy foods.
2) You feel energetic
Some diet changes can bring positive results when it comes to your energy levels if you’ve been feeling sluggish for some time now. So if you feel energized throughout the day, it could be a sign that you are managing to balance your blood sugar levels.
3) Your clothes start to fit better (you lose inches)
The fact that your clothes fit you well is a clear indication that you are losing weight. There may be times when you are not progressing on the scale but slowly losing inches. It’s actually one of the best signs of victory on your weight loss journey. This signifies a positive change in body composition.
4) Your digestion improves
If you find that your digestion is improving day by day, it means that you are walking on the path to success. When you’re healthier, you do it from the inside out, and better digestion is an indication that the healthier diet you’ve adopted is working in your favor.
5) Your skin and hair improve
Be careful, hyperpigmentation, acne or hair loss can be a sign of an imbalance or inflammation in the body. Therefore, a healthy and balanced diet, good hydration and sufficient sleep will have a positive effect on your skin and hair.
We hope these five methods will help you better understand your body and assess your victories without a scale.
