The identity of an Aadhaar holder is verified by the UIDAI through facial authentication. The physical face scanned for verification is confirmed to match the one captured at the time of registration when the Aadhaar number was created and face authentication was successful. Aadhaar Face Authentication from RS Service app, released by UIDAI, allows Aadhaar Authentication User Agencies (AUA) to authenticate users by taking their faces live.

This application can be used to authenticate Aadhaar faces for a number of other applications including JeevanPraman, PDS, scholarship programs, COWIN and farmer welfare programs.

According to UIDAI’s tweet, “Residents are now using the Aadhaar Face Authentication feature by downloading the UIDAI RDApp, which can be used for various Aadhaar Authentication Apps like JeevanPraman, PDS, Scholarship Programs, COWIN, FarmerWelfare programs”.


  • Visit website to get Jeevan Pramaan app.
  • Submit your Aadhaar number, mobile number and email address.
  • After authentication, enter the OTP, followed by banking and pension information.
  • To give your consent and confirm, check the box.
  • To accept the “Face Scan”, click on yes.
  • Keep your face still and blink your eyes as the camera opens to take the photo and complete the authentication process.
  • The digital life certificate will be produced after its success.
