Korean Mohegan INSPIRE hits 30% build milestone, on track for late 2023 launch – IAG

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s South Korean integrated resort, Mohegan INSPIRE, is on track for a late 2023 launch, with the company revealing on Wednesday that Phase 1A construction progress has reached 30%.

Destined to become the largest integrated resort in Northeast Asia once all four phases are completed, Phase 1A covers an area of 461,661 square meters – the equivalent of 64 football pitches – and will include three 5-star hotels with a total of 1,275 rooms plus a 15,000-seat Arena and casino reserved for foreigners. The total development cost for the initial phase is KRW 1.8 trillion (US$1.3 billion).

According to Wednesday’s construction update, the latest progress has seen most underground work and structural work at major facilities completed.

Mohegan said the development is “sailing smoothly” towards its planned launch in late 2023.

Mohegan develops Inspire in Incheon, South Korea.

“Mohegan INSPIRE is elegantly designed with patterns derived from the beautiful scenery of Yeongjong Island in Incheon as well as Korean elements,” said Chen Si, COO of Mohegan INSPIRE.

“Being nestled close to Incheon Airport will be a great advantage for us in attracting foreign tourists from all over the world, including Chinese and Japanese visitors.

“As a landmark leading the revitalized tourism and leisure industry in the post-COVID era, we will become a resort that will fascinate guests with entertainment facilities and attractions that all generations can enjoy. .”

Future phases will include the largest banquet hall and convention center in the metropolitan area with a capacity of 4,000 people, a global catering facility, a high-end shopping center, Splash Bay – an indoor domed water park open all year – and an outdoor family park.

Mohegan has previously confirmed that construction of Mohegan INSPIRE had resumed in February after the company completed its funding late last year.
