Michael Fassbender prepares to hit the track for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France

A smiling Michael Fassbender watched every inch of the professional on Saturday as he donned a green racing suit as he raced his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France.

The 45-year-old German-Irish actor looked ready to step up as he posed alongside his Porsche 911 RSR.

Michael donned an all-in-one emblazoned with logos as he shielded his eyes from the summer sun behind blinds.

Slipping his feet into color-coordinated running shoes, the actor appeared in high spirits as he prepared to hit the track.

With his chestnut locks in a casual style, the Oscar nominee sported an unshaven face for the 24-hour endurance test.

The actor posed next to the vehicle before chatting with the crew and collapsing into fits of laughter.

Michael prepared intensely for the race and trained for three years as he described it as his “dream” to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is the oldest active endurance race in the world.

Earlier today, Michael arrived at the garage in a navy Hugo Boss polo shirt with red trim, showing off his muscular arms.

Michael sped around the track and flashed a huge smile as he sat behind the wheel during his practice session.

There he tackled the hunt twice around the clock driving the 911 RSR.

Speaking of his next race, Michael said: “The thing about dreams is you don’t think about how much work you’ve put in or how many setbacks you’ve had to deal with.” I not only learned what it takes to contest a race weekend, but also how to be competitive.

“It gives me a fascinating opportunity to show my full potential. It could be a once-in-a-lifetime chance, so I just want to give my best.

Le Mans will see 60 racing cars make two round-the-clock trips to the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans on Saturday and Sunday in the endurance race, which began in 1923.

Michael began his racing career when he met actor Patrick Dempsey on a long-haul flight from London to Los Angeles a few years ago.

After Michael shared his passion for the sport, the Dempsey Racing owner and former Le Mans driver contacted Porsche Motorsport Marketing and launched the actor’s racing career.
