Users should expect online services to be available this weekend due to server issues.
According to a city statement, the City of Newport is advising residents that certain online services and features will be temporarily unavailable while IT staff work to resolve an ongoing disruption affecting the city’s internal servers.
Although the city’s website was unaffected, a number of popular online functions were temporarily suspended and messaging services were taken offline for the duration of the weekend.
Please note that municipal offices remain open and staff are available by phone and in person between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Residents are urged to use the staff directory on the City’s website to contact the appropriate department if assistance is required or to visit in person during normal business hours.
According to a statement from the city, staff will work over the weekend to assess the issue in order to restore full functionality online. In the meantime, residents and visitors are urged to use the City Staff Directory at www.CityofNewport.com/StaffDirectory
