NYSS Fairs to Begin July 2 at Historic Goshen Trail

SCHENECTADY, ​​NY. – The New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) County Fair Series is scheduled to begin Saturday, July 2 at Goshen Historical Trail, the oldest active harness racing trot track in the country. Post time is for 1 p.m.

Goshen Historic Track Racing Action

The series consists of 21 non-pari-mutuel harness racing events open to eligible Standardbred 2- and 3-year-olds bred in New York. The events provide opportunities for young horses to earn money as they learn while bringing harness racing to communities across the state.

“The New York County Fair Series Sire Stakes is something we look forward to every year,” said Steve Jones, administrator of the State of Agriculture and Horse Husbandry Development Fund. New York. “We are extremely proud to partner with each county fair to bring these highly competitive races to the towns of those who follow the races each year, but also want to get more involved.”

As a reminder, the complete calendar of race dates can be consulted on the New York Sire Stakes website. The County Fair finals are scheduled for September 6 in Monticello. Post time is for 1 p.m.
