“Overwatch 2” account merge and update error LC-208

Four days after the launch of Monitor 2Blizzard is still working to fix the major issues that have plagued the game so far. Today’s update is brief (it’s the weekend after all), but it will hopefully come as a comfort to those who have encountered these issues.

First, over the next few hours, Blizzard will be rolling out patches “to address many of the remaining LC-208 errors.” This is a connection error that is preventing many players from accessing the game. I didn’t get a chance to check if these are resolved for me on PS5 and Switch today. I was getting these issues Thursday and Friday (still haven’t gotten into PS5 yet).

It’s worth noting that Blizzard didn’t mention any downtime this time around. So it looks like the developers are implementing these fixes while the servers are still up and running.

MORE FORBESNo, you did not lose your “Overwatch” skins, progress, and other items in “Overwatch 2”

Meanwhile, some players who merged their accounts are still missing skins, other items, and stats. Many more are waiting for their account to be merged. As a reminder, your belongings are always safe. You haven’t lost anything if you just Monitoring 1. It just takes a while to get through blocking account merge requests.

Saturday’s update could be good news if you’re still waiting for your account merge to complete. “We are aware of long account migration queues and are increasing capacity to move it faster,” Blizzard said.

That’s all for now, but Team 4 says they’ll keep everyone updated on their progress as they work to fix the issues. He added that he will provide a more in-depth update on the situation by Monday.
