Jack recognized for his performances on and off the pitch

The Cal Poly Humboldt men’s and women’s track and field teams have earned 2022 Varsity Team honors from the US Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association. Runner Rosa Granados has been named a 2022 All-Academic Athlete.

To earn All-Academic Team honors, a team must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Granados was one of 400 NCAA Division II student-athletes to be named a USTFCCCCA varsity athlete. She earned an NCAA Division II provisional score with her time of 36:27.66 which she ran at the Mike Fanelli Classic on March 31 in San Francisco. This time is currently the sixth fastest time in school history.

Earlier this month, twelve Jacks were named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Spring Academic Honor Roll. The named Jacks included Granados along with Travis Allen, Emily Bath, Pearl Burton, Shane Burton, Kaela Dennert-Frederick, Joy Hano, Valerie Heywood, Grace Kasberger, Andie Kolasinski, Jaxon Leduc and Saedy Williamson.

At the 2022 CCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in San Francisco State in May, six Jacks earned All-CCAA honors by finishing in the top three in their respective events. Hano won the 100 meter hurdles while Kasberger won the heptathlon.
