SportsPursuit and Private Sport Shop merge to form Sportscape Group

Based in UK Sports Pursuitthe online retailer known for offering discount sporting goods across a wide range of sports and outdoor brands, has announced its merger with the French company Private sports shop.

The combination creates a business with over €200 million in sales in France, the UK, Germany and 10 other countries in 2021, accelerating the Group’s shared vision of creating Europe’s leading sports and entertainment hub. ‘outdoor.

  • Private Sport Shop, one of the top 10 sports retailers in Europe by traffic, has over 15 million members, with 11 million monthly website visits in 2021 and around 3 million social media followers .
  • SportPursuit, the UK’s largest sports licensing specialist, has a community of over 9 million members
  • In combination, Sportscape Group has a highly engaged digital community of approximately 4 million social media followers and over 3 million app users.

The merger provides a wider audience and broader geographic coverage for the Group’s partner brands, with a strong and growing audience in France, the UK and 10 other countries. Private Sport Shop and SportPursuit will continue to operate as consumer-facing brands in their home markets, building on their strong consumer recognition.

Sportscape Group will be led by Sébastien Rohart, current CEO of Private Sport Shop. He will be supported by current leaders from both companies, with Adam Pikett, current CEO and co-founder of SportPursuit, taking on the role of Chief Vision Officer for Sportscape Group.

Luke Pikett, MD and co-founder of SportPursuit, and Yannick Leouffre, MD of Private Sport Shop, will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of SportPursuit and Private Sport Shop.

Newly merged group creates a powerful distribution channel for over 2,500 existing partner brands, giving brands access to a unique audience of over 24 million true sports and outdoor enthusiasts – 90-95% of traffic the Group’s daily life comes organically from its own audience.

As well as generating significant growth through organic expansion, the combination will create a solid foundation to support further M&A activity across Europe and beyond.
