KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 – Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) says he will provide ‘stem‘ (penalty) and qurban (the act of offering a sacrifice) payment services through the THiJARI app starting May 9 for prospective pilgrims during the Haj season this year.
TH’s acting executive director of operations, Mohamad Ameen Abdul Wahab, said the service was aimed at encouraging pilgrims to make payments before arriving in Makkah.
“The stem payment is for Tamattu Haj and Qiran Haj where the stem meat will be distributed to eligible beneficiaries in Makkah. While qurban the meat will be distributed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to eligible Muslims on the African continent,” he said in a statement today.
He also said the stem payment was at the rate of RM590 for a kibas (sheep) while the payment of the qurban was at the rate of RM955.80 for a kibas and RM5,900 for a cow.
“Prospective pilgrims can make payments at any of the TH branches in the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, THiJARI offers several online services such as Transfer Money via FPX, Open TH Account, Call Haj, Update Personal Data and Check Registration Status Haj, among others.
